Keep your shoe photographs reusable and properly credited

Owning a pair of shoes does not give you rights to somebody else’s photograph of it.

Choose the source

Your own photographs are the simplest starting point. For third-party images, check a written permission or a licence that covers the intended use.

Keep attribution together

Record the creator, source URL, licence and any changes. If a licence requires sharing adaptations on the same terms, keep those terms with the adapted file.

Do not infer permission

A brand name, public product page or downloadable picture is not by itself a licence. A site policy cannot grant rights belonging to another person.

Respond to concerns

If a rightsholder identifies a problem, use the private report channel to preserve evidence and request review. Moderators can hide the material while checking the issue.
